Dementia is a progressive disorder. It appears in people as they get old.

There are several factors which fuel memory loss, which include, lack of proper diet, sleep, exercise, substance abuse, anxiety, depression etc.

Memory loss is considered to be normal if it is related to biological changes or other socio-psychological factors. But the rate of deterioration in cognitive functioning is much more than the normal range. According to WHO, currently more than 55 million people live with dementia worldwide, and there are nearly 10 million new cases every year.

It has become more of a lifestyle disorder in the present scenario. Covid conditions have boosted the rate of people with dementia according to recent studies.

If you take care of your day to day activities and social interactions, these kind of disorders could be controlled to great extend.

The caretakers' health is as equally important as that of the patient.
